SM Asaduzzaman made a courtesy visit to the ICA Minister in Agartala today and handed an invitation letter to the Minister requesting him to remain present in the “2nd Bangladesh Film Festival” scheduled to be held on February 23 in Agartala.

Minister Sushanta Chowdhury and Assistant High Commissioner to Bangladesh Arif Mohammad both discussed ways to build stronger ties between Tripura and Bangladesh from their respective positions. They assured each other that they would take necessary steps to further expand multidimensional communication and cooperation, especially in sports and culture.

Tripura and Bangladesh share many similarities in the cultural spheres which is a boon for stronger cultural ties between the two countries and helping to enhance the relation further. Performing cultural programmes by artists in both the countries can take the bilateral relations to a new height, Chowdhury commented and added, any problem can be solved through bilateral talks as well as help to work together on various developmental initiatives.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb have always worked sincerely in improving the Indo-Bangla bilateral relations, the ICA Minister said and reiterated to work for strengthening the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India as well as gaining the confidence of the people of both the countries.
It may be mentioned that Arif Mohammad has recently been appointed as the new Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala. He has replaced Mohammad Jobaid Hossain.
