Congress is like the Titanic ship, no one will be successful to pull it out, said Convener of Tripura unit of Trinamool Congress Steering committee, Subal Bhowmik in Agartala.
Without naming particular leaders, Bhowmik trained his guns at the Tripura Pradesh Congress and said, those failed leaders who were at the helm of affairs in Congress during the long 25-years of CPM regime, have become active once again.
“Congress party is like the Titanic Ship. Just as no one could pull the ship out from the bottom of the ocean, similarly it is impossible to rejuvenate Congress party”, Bhowmik said.
He revealed his observation on Congress during a joining programme held in Agartala on Friday.
Bhowmik told the media, 705 Janajati voters of different parties including BJP and IPFT have joined TMC today.
His tirade against the Congress started after Sudip Roy Barman and Ashish Saha joined Congress. There is large scale apprehension – which according to Bhowmik is actually an attempt to create confusion among the people – TMC in Tripura is likely to experience erosion.
As the Trinamool Congress, in its home turf in Bengal, is in a sticky wicket owing to reported sour relations between TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee and party’s general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the mood among the supporters of the TMC is surely somber.
The war cry of the TMC – Khela Hobe – is no longer audible in Tripura after the Bengal based BJP leaders vanished from the State. In the wake of such a turn, Bhowmik is attacking Congress to refrain from his supporters quitting the party, political pundits opined.
