After a serious drubbing in the last TTAADC polls where IPFT failed to open an account, the Party leaders are trying to revamp the organization before the State Assembly. The Party held its two-day Central Executive Committee meeting on Saturday and Sunday in Agartala which pondered over the organizational as well as political issues. The party will hold a two-day State Conference on March 5-6
The two-day conference of the Central Executive Committee of the IPFT has come to an end on Sunday.
“IPFT central Committee members have analyzed the emerging political situation in the State. We have decided to conduct State level Conference on March 5 and 6 next”, said Jamatia on Sunday while speaking about the outcome of the Central Executive Meeting.
The members of the Central Executive Committee also discussed organizational issues and identified the strength of different areas.
“The members have submitted reports on organizational strengthen – there are some divisions where our organization is in good condition – however, in some other divisions, it is weak”, Mevar Kumar said hinting at impending rejigs in the organization.
He said Tipraland is the main issue of the party and will also press for transforming TTAADC into a Territorial Council.
“Achieving Tipraland will be our prime goal and we will go to the people with this demand and try to win their support”, Party sources said.
Notably, TIPRA Motha – a regional political organization – gave a call for a Greater Tipraland and snatched a considerable support base from the IPFT.
“The demand for Greater Tipraland is impossible to achieve – so, IPFT is determined to struggle for Tipra Land in the ADC areas”, party sources said.
Besides Mevar Kumar Jamatia told the media, IPFT Ministers and MLAs will submit a deputation to the Governor and the Chief Minister. A copy of the deputation would also be sent to the Union Home Minister.
