Education Minister of Tripura and senior BJP leader Ratan Lal Nath has challenged the Opposition parties to prove the strength on the floor of the State Assembly that will commence from February 17 next.
His challenge came up after recent statements of former BJP MLA Sudip Roy Barman and his followers that attempted to hint that ruling BJP-IPFT would lose majority in the Assembly.
“The assembly session is scheduled to start from February 17 next; if the Opposition wants to prove their majority, there is an option. We are majority and we shall continue to be so”, Nath exuded confidence.
He also said Party is ready to face elections at any time and will win.
“Despite Corona Pandemic, we have done so many developmental works during the last four years that no one could imagine. When by-polls will be held, no other party but the BJP candidates will win”, he commented.
In this connection, Nath also referred to Sudip Roy Barman’s comment that the latter was feeling suffocated in BJP and said, Roy Barman said the same thing when he left Congress for TMC and later quit TMC to join BJP.
Nath commented that neither any other ruling party MLA would join Sudip’s camp nor there is any risk to the government. BJP is the safest party and the state saw various developmental works since formation of the BJP government.
Commenting photo clicking issue, Nath said if Rebati Tripura or Dr. Atul Debbarma clicked a photo with Sudip Roy Barman, it doesn’t mean that they would quit BJP; despite political difference, maintaining friendship and cordial relation between the leaders is the best practice in the democracy, he opined.
