Veteran CPI leader joins Tipra Motha
Veteran CPI leader and former Jail Minister Manindra Reang, who expressed to quit the party several times in the past, ultimately severed ties with CPI and joined TIPRA Motha at Santirbazar on Saturday.
He joined the TIPRA Motha at a programme held at Manpathar in Santirbazar today. Among others, chief of the TIPRA Motha Pradyot Kishore Debbarma was present.
In his speech, Debbarma said, TIPRA Motha who is ruling the TTAADC will announce the worshipping day of the deity of the Reang tribe as a public holiday in the ADC area. He also hailed the activities of Bru Sangrama for the development of the Reang people.
Subal included in TMC National Working Committee
In the new Trinamool National Working Committee, convener of the party’s Tripura Unit Subal Bhowmik has been included from Tripura. He along with other leaders would look into party affairs in the North East Region.
Speaking to the media, Bhowmik said the decision of the TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee to include a leader from Tripura shows her respect for the people of the State.
He reiterated that the TMC is serious about Tripura and party’s supremo Mamata Banerjee took stock of the socio-political situation of the State.
Bhowmik also pointed out party workers are engaged in the political activities in Tripura keeping in mind the upcoming Assembly Polls.
Meanwhile, the Tripura unit of TMC is yet to have any full-fledged State, District and Block-level committees. A Steering Committee headed by Subal Bhowmik as the Convener is looking at the political activities of the party in Tripura.
