Strict legal action will be taken against the heinous attempt to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of Agartala and the state by creating violence with the help of miscreants.
A group of frustrated ‘political traders’ hatched a conspiracy to fulfill their vested interests by the notorious miscreants – however, such an attempt will not be tolerated at any cost, Tripura Chief Minister warned while reacting on political violence broke out in Agartala on Saturday evening.
In the violence, several persons including one personnel also the PG of BJP State General Secretary Tinku Roy were injured.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb went to GB Hospital to inquire about the health condition of the injured persons including the Police personnel Srimanta Bhil.
Speaking to the media later, the chief minister slammed hard the Congress for last night’s violence.
He alleged that drug smugglers were involved in Saturday’s violence in Agartala. Most of the miscreants were picked up from different places of the State.
He further said conspiracies to disrupt law and order in the state and hooliganism in the holy land of Tripura will not be tolerated at any cost.
In a pre-planned manner, infamous miscreants and anti-social elements sheltered by the National Congress carried out brick attacks, hurled explosives and petrol bombs from the Congress Bhavan.
The hooligans did not spare Union MoS Pratima Bhowmik – a valiant attempt by four women police personnel saved the MoS from the vicious attack. The miscreants also attacked police and civilians.
He further added that the process of cracking down the identified goons was underway and any attempt to obstruct the peace and stall the development of the state would be dealt with in a stern and determined manner.
During his visit, Secretary Dr. P. K Goyal and OSD Sanjay Mishra were also present. Then the Chief Minister also visited the Trauma Centre of GBP Hospital. There he interacted with a few patients and their family members.
Information & Cultural Affairs Minister Sushanta Choudhury also visited injured police personnel Srimanta Bhil today in GBP Hospital. ICA Minister interacted with him and his family members. Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dilip Majumdar was also present during the visit.
