Light House Project in Tripura is being set up with the joint efforts of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister. Economically weak families will be able to find stable shelter under this modern project. Many people want to build their house in Agartala but could not due to financial strains. Keeping them in mind, the government has come up with such a unique and modern project, said Urban Development Minister Santana Chakma after inaugurating the Flat Allotment under the Light House Project through a lottery system at Muktadhara Auditorium Hall today. The event was organized by the Urban Development department. Secretary of the department Kiran Gitte, Director Tamal Majumdar and other officials were present at the event.
UD Minister said, about 1 thousand houses are being built under this Light House Project. The beneficiaries will be distributed houses in two phases. Those who annually earn up to Rs 3 lakh have been kept under a category.
On the other hand, those who annually earn Rs 3 to 6 lakh have been kept under another category. This government has taken initiatives to help people become self-reliant in different ways. The state government is making efforts to make people financially self-reliant in different ways and not only through government jobs.
The state government has taken special initiatives to empower women, one of which is 33% reservation for women in jobs. She said, initiatives have been taken to build women’s self-dependent through different SHGs and Skill Development training. The main agenda of the present government is Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas, and Drug-free India and Tripura. She called on every parent to be vigilant and aware to fight against addiction and help make Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura.
Secretary of the department Kiran Gitte highlighted the important aspects of Light House Project implementation. He said, this whole project is of the central government. The state government has provided land for its implementation. Each flat will cost Rs 16 lakh 25 thousand and including the land cost it is about Rs 30 lakh.
But the beneficiaries will only have to pay a specific amount. Rest amount will be borne by the government. He said, the flat allotment is being done in transparent system with video recording.
Flats will be allotted in two categories with prices – Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7 lakh respectively. The amount is being taken in two instalments. Those who have already paid are being allotted flats through lottery system. It will be easy to get flat number and loans from bank through lottery system. Prior to this, 150 beneficiaries have already been allotted flats through lottery system under Light House Project.
