Information & Cultural Affairs department is organizing cultural workshops throughout the year in different areas of the state to promote cultural exercises among the young generation.
A cultural workshop was organized in Anandanagar of Sadar sub-division from March 7 till March 23 with the students of 5 schools- Dr. B. R. Ambedkar English Model School, Anandanagar HS School, Shyamaprasad HS School, Kabi Sukanta High School, Vivekananda Memorial School.
A closing programme of cultural workshop was held at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar English Model School in which among others, Cooperative Minister Ram Prasad pal, among others, was present.
Total 130 students were given training by the artistes of Satyanistha Cultural Society on tribal and Bengali folk dances besides training on Rabindra and patriotic songs.
The cultural workshop was organized with the initiative of Information & Cultural Affairs department, West Tripura district in association with Satyanistha Cultural Society.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramprasad Pal said, the main objective of such workshops is to create right opportunity to bring out the hidden talents from different areas. He hoped that the students who have taken training in the workshop will shine bright in the future and make the state proud.
He lauded Satyanistha Cultural Society for its works and hoped that this organization will continue its work in the future. Chairman of Dukli Panchayat Samiti Ajoy Kumar Das said, Satyanistha Cultural Society has been working on solving different difficult problems of the society from the start. He lauded the organization for its admirable work in the Covid-19 situation and for always coming forward for the welfare of people.
West Tripura DM Debapriya Bardhan and Sadar SDM Asim Saha also spoke on the occasion.
Welcome speech was delivered by Director of ICA department Ratan Biswas. He said, this kind of cultural workshop holds great importance for a prosperous cultural environment.
Others present in the programme were West Anandanagar Gram Panchayat Pradhan Sukumar Sarkar, Headmaster of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar English Model School Ajit Kumar Ghosh and Assistant Director Amrit Debbarma. Participating artistes and schools were given away souvenirs in the closing programme.
