Speaking to the media, Chowdhury said, the cabinet decided to recruit 300 Post Graduate Teachers—75 Sociology, 75 Psychology, 75 Geography and 75 economics—under the Education department. He said the decision aimed to meet the shortage of Post Graduate Teachers.

Besides, the cabinet also approved recruitment of another 64 Post Graduated Teachers and 175 Graduate Teachers. The cabinet decisions also included recruitment of Principal for Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT) and creation of 348 posts of Special Educators, Chowdhury told the media.

The council of ministers, he said, cleared filling up of 143 posts of Lab Technicians under the Health and Family Welfare department.

While announcing another important decision of the cabinet, Chowdhury said the state government would constitute a Tripura Start-up Fund of Rs. 50 crore for providing interest-free loans to new start-ups.

“The decision has been taken to encourage unemployed youths for start-ups, a step towards building Atmanirbhar Tripura,” Chowdhury said, adding that no interest would be applicable for the loan.

Of the total, the state government would bear Rs. 15 crore and a fund manager SIDBI would bear Rs. 10 crore while the remaining Rs. 25 crore would be managed from various sectors and funds, PSUs, he added.

“The interested youths will make a plan and submit the DPR and then the state government will evaluate it. The fund will be released if the start-up proposal is accepted,” Chowdhury said. (Courtesy: Tripura Times)
