The state government is working with priority for development of North Tripura, Unakoti and Dhalai districts, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.

 

He said, “the three districts- North Tripura, Unakoti and Dhalai were lagging behind in terms of development for a long time. After the formation of the new government, priority has been given for overall development of the three districts by utilizing all potential aspects including Agar.”

 

The Chief Minister, who inaugurated a modern rice mill and an industrial estate during his visit in North Tripura district on Wednesday, Deb felt that proper utilization of the trade potentials of this region would ensure economic prosperity through large scale industrial development and employment generation.

 

As part of the state’s government programmes for industrial growth, the Chief Minister opened the Agro-Tech Modern Rice Mill built at cost of Rs. 14 crore at IIDC Dewanpassa in Dharmanagar.
 

Commenting on the new facility, Deb on Facebook wrote, “Glad to see new industries developing in #Tripura. It is also a big step towards further strengthening the economic conditions of our farmers.”
 Deb also inaugurated an Industrial Estate and Industrial Shed constructed at Rs. 10.19 crore at Mission Tilla area of Dharmangar.

 

The Chief Minister was accompanied by chairman of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation Tinku Roy and other officials. There was enthusiasm among the local people following the Chief Minister’s visit.

 

After the inaugural programmes, the Chief Minister also took part in an interaction with the students of Government Degree and Polytechnic Colleges at Vivekananda Sardha Satabarshiki Bhavan.

He asked the students to stay away from drugs. He also elaborated the new Education Policy. The Chief Minister also stressed on personality development of the students.

Later he tweeted, “Had a lovely interaction with College Students of Govt. Degree College & North District Polytechnic today. My best wishes to them for their future, I am sure, they will play an important role in making #Tripura a model state as envisioned by Hon PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji.”

 

Before returning to Agartala, the Chief Minister joined a party programme organized by Bagbasa Mandal at Pratyekray.  He welcomed 512 persons from 112 families to BJP in the programme.

Addressing the programme, Deb said, Tripura is now progressing toward a new direction with increase in social allowances, socio-economic development of all sections of people, education, healthcare, drinking water, trade opportunities and housing.
