Vishnu Idol found during digging in Temple Town
An idol of Vishnu was found at Jagannath Dighi (lake) in ‘Temple Town’ Udaipur in Tripura on Saturday.
Local people of Udaipur became curious after recovering the Vishnu idol during renovation of Jagannath Dighi of Udaipur on Saturday. Excavation works are undergoing on 4 sides of the Jagannath Dighi for rejuvenate the 600 years old Jagannath Dighi.
The labourers recovered the Vishnu idol when they were digging up the West bank of the Dighi .
It is worthy mention here that Maharaja Dhanya Manikya excavated Jagannath Dighi 600 years ago and it is presumed that the Vishnu idol was an idol of the Vishnu Temple (presently known as Hari Mandir).
The temple was also founded by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya during excavation of Jagannath Dighi. Meanwhile high officials of Gomati District Administration and officials of Police Administration rushed to the spot. At present the idol has been kept at Jagannath Bari.
Strange-looking calf borns in Khowai
People of East Ganki assembled at the house of one Rajendra Debnath at Khowai in Tripura after reports of birth of a strange looking calf surfaced.
While some of the people were curious to have a look at the peculiar looking calf, many others became superstitious and claimed that the calf was the incarnation of some ‘Apa Devta’ – god of evils.
Saturday being a holiday, no ARDD personnel were available for inspecting the calf which was reported to look like a plastic made calf with the skull appeared to be stone made and burning red eyes.
“The calf is distinctively different from normal calves. Even as it has four legs, other parts – especially the body of calf. The skin of the calf appeared like cracked plastics”, said one of the villagers.
