Congress MLA of Tripura Assembly urged party workers not to oppose the move to forge grass root level unity with the CPIM.
Addressing a rally at Nalchar under Sepahijala district in Tripura on Thursday (Jan 5), Sudip Roy Barman said, there were many disputes in the past, now it is the time to forget those disputes and build an unity with the CPIM party at the grass root for the purpose of stopping political terrorism unleashed by ruling BJP in Tripura.
Considering the bitter and violent relationship with the CPIM in the past, large scale resentment among Congress supporters is apprehended. To address the grievance, if any, of the supporters, Sudip Roy Barman batted hard in favour of unity among the Opposition parties and urged Congress activists to support the move.
To justify unity between the Congress and CPIM, Roy Barman said, “The ongoing political terrorism and corruption cannot be allowed to continue. The situation of the State and the country is the same. All the administrative wings of the government are being controlled captured and have been turned into hubs of partisanship”.
In view of the situation he mentioned, Roy Barman wondered where people will go to get justice?”
Listing out several incidences of political violence in the recent past, Roy Barman alleged Tripura Police personnel are being used regularly and they have no option.
Among other Congress leader, Ashish Saha also came down heavily on the ruling party. Echoing Roy Barman, he also demanded a united fight against the BJP.
Saha alleged, Opposition party activists are unable to carry out peaceful democratic movement and poll campaign under the present BJP rule in Tripura. He urged overwhelming support from people to end the ongoing situation by ousting BJP from power in upcoming Assembly polls.
