Activists of the CPIM and it’s frontal organisations are desperately working to regain lost grounds and form the ‘8th Left Government’ in Tripura.
While local leaders are holding door to door campaign to reach the voters, State level leaders are participating in rallies and public meetings.
Several frontal organisations, especially students and youth organizations – DYFI, SFI, TYF and TSU – have hit the ground and campaigning for the party.
After the poll alliance between the Congress and CPIM, seat sharing issue is yet to be announced. However, that is not stopping the Leftists in holding poll campaigns.
Criticizing the ruling BJP over unemployment and other issues, DYFI, SFI, TYF and TSU held a rally at Udaipur on Sunday. They raised slogans demanding ‘ restoration of democracy’ and ‘establishing rule of law’ in Tripura.
The Leftists urged people to come forward and support the Leftists in February 16 Assembly polls to oust BJP. The rally roamed around the town and ended at the Old Town Hall premises. A public meeting was held there in which party leaders addressed the gathering and slammed the BJP led Central and the State governments.
Meantime, CPIM local leaders and supporters conducted a door-to-door campaign at hamlets under Twichakma in Gandachhera under Dhalai district today in which CPIM State Committee member Santosh Chakma and other leaders took part.
Santosh Chakma narrated the sufferings of common people living at Senpara under Twichakma. He alleged inhabitants of the Senpara are facing Drinking water, road, electricity and livelihood problems for the last five years of the BJP regime. He urged people to be united against the BJP as the BJP-IPFT government exploited people.
Manik Sarkar addressed a public rally at Madhupur under Kamalasagar constituency today.
Veteran CPIM leader Pabitra Kar led a rally in Bamutia today. Similar rallies were conducted at Rajnagar in South district, Ambassa in Dhalai and other areas.
