Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Smart Training Center and training on Digital Tripura Initiatives at the IT Bhavan, Indranagar 9n Monday ( May 8).

This is a unique step towards building a Digital Tripura, as envisioned by the state government.

The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to build a Digital India, and stated that it would not be possible unless all the states in the country become digital.

The Smart Training Center, equipped with modern facilities, has been opened in the state to make all administrative works transparent, fast, and paperless.

The Chief Minister lauded the IT department’s initiative to provide modern infrastructure for the center.

The Nodal Officers of all government departments will be brought under Smart Training by the end of the year.

Information Technology Minister Pranajit Singha Roy stated that ample work has been implemented in the IT sector in the last five years, and the Smart Training Center being inaugurated today is a historic day for the state’s IT sector.

The IT department is also working to provide internet service to different Panchayats and Village Committees in the state.

The training program for 60 Nodal Officers from different departments has commenced at the Smart Training Center.

The modern facilitated Training Center includes a Video Conferencing System, Digital Podium, Interactive Display Panel including OPS (Open Pluggable System), Display Panel cum laptop with a wireless keyboard for hands-on training, Sound Amplifier and Speakers, Wireless Conference System delegate system and controller, Wireless Conference System delegate unit, Wireless Conference System Chairman unit, Wireless Conference System battery charger, Wireless Conference System AP Transmitter, All-in-one Desktop, Sound Proof Acoustic System, among others.

The Chief Secretary J. K. Sinha and Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte also spoke on the occasion. The Principal Secretary of the IT department, Puneet Agarwal, delivered the welcome speech, and the Director of the IT department, N. Naresh Babu, delivered the vote of thanks. The inauguration of the Smart Training Center is a significant milestone in the state’s efforts towards building a Digital Tripura.
