An interstate bus carrying 11 passengers traveling from Guwahati to Agartala met with an accident in Tripura on Monday (May 15) morning. 

The incident occurred at around 5:00 am on the side of the Assam-Agartala National Highway near Karamchara Bazar in Longtrai Valley, under Manu Police Station in Tripura. 

The bus, owned by Sherowali Travels and numbered NL 01 NC 4269, reportedly fell into a roadside water body, causing minor injuries to all the passengers.

The locals who witnessed the accident immediately informed the nearby police station, following which the police personnel from Manu Police Station and firefighters from Manu Fire Service rushed to the spot. They rescued the passengers and took them to 82 miles primary health centre.

The passengers were given primary treatment at the health centre and were found to have suffered only minor injuries. The attending doctor confirmed that all individuals were in stable condition and did not require further hospitalization.

The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, and an investigation is underway. This incident highlights the need for proper safety measures and precautions to be taken while traveling on the highways.
