Blue Mount English School of Behliangchhip in Jampui Hill under North Tripura District upheld its annual tradition by organizing the Cultural Day event on May 16, 2023.
The event served as a platform to showcase the rich diversity of cultural dances, songs, and costumes, highlighting the Mizo, Reang, Chakma, Molsom, Debbarma, and Tripuri cultures. With a theme centred on unity in diversity, the celebration aimed to foster a sense of togetherness among the participants.
The event was graced by the presence of Sailiana Sailo, a respected former bureaucrat who served in various capacities within the government of Tripura. Sailo, attending the programme as the Chief Guest, delivered a speech brimming with wisdom gained from years of experience.
His words served as a source of encouragement and motivation for both the teachers and students in attendance. He emphasized the importance of tirelessly nurturing and harnessing the hidden talents within each child, urging parents and teachers to provide opportunities for growth and development that would ultimately benefit humanity as a whole.
In addition to Sailo and other esteemed dignitaries present as Guests of Honour included BC Nunga, the BAC Chairman of Jampui Hill, and Nabarun Chakraborty, the BDO of Jampui Hill RD Block.
The occasion also marked the 106th Anniversary of the Ministry of The Salvation Army church in Eastern India, which played a pivotal role in establishing Blue Mount English School in 1986. Starting from modest beginnings, the school has continually grown in strength and has achieved a remarkable 100% pass rate every year for its Madhyamik candidates.
Captain Lalhmunhlua, Chairman of the school’s management board, expressed immense satisfaction and joy at the school’s unwavering commitment to serving the educational and career needs of underprivileged members of society.
