Rahul Gandhi, a senior leader of the Congress party, urged his fellow party members to remain united in the face of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) challenge during the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
In a bid to rally the opposition, Gandhi asserted that while Congress follows the ideology of ‘Bharat Jodo’ (Unite India), the BJP-RSS adheres to the ‘Bharat Todo’ (Divide India) doctrine.
Speaking at a gathering of opposition parties in Patna, Gandhi emphasized the significance of victory in Bihar, stating, “If we win Bihar, we will win the entire country.”
Gandhi remarked, “The ongoing battle of ideologies in Bihar showcases the stark contrast between Congress and the BJP-RSS. We, as the Congress party, promote love and unity across the nation, advocating ‘Mohabbat’ (Love).
Conversely, the BJP-RSS propagates hatred and social division.”
During his recent travels, Gandhi observed a notable presence of people from Bihar, regardless of the regions he visited.
“When we conducted the Bharat Jodo Yatra, we encountered individuals from Bihar everywhere we went. Whether it was Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, or Kashmir, the people of Bihar were present,” he shared.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge credited Rahul Gandhi for taking the initiative to unify the nation’s populace.
Kharge affirmed, “As representatives of 20 opposition parties convening in Patna, we will unite our efforts for the 2024 elections”.
“I urge the people of Bihar to resolve any internal conflicts among themselves. A victory in Bihar will pave the way for success across the country.”
Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge were warmly received by a multitude of Congress party supporters upon their arrival at Patna airport.
Subsequently, they proceeded to the Congress office at ‘Sadakat Ashram,’ where state party leaders extended a warm welcome.
