Ankit Paul, a brilliant student from the Khowai Govt. Class-XII School in Tripura has proven his academic prowess by securing the 9th position in this year’s Higher Secondary examination conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE).

He got an opportunity to study Civil Engineering at IIT Varanasi. However, poverty put up a stumbling block and made pursuing his dream uncertain.

Ankit scored an impressive 447 marks, which accounts for a remarkable 95.4 percent in the TBSE conducted Higher Secondary Examination. He successfully cracked the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced, attaining an impressive rank of CRL 11,193 and EWS 1549, thanks to the support he received through the ‘Super 30 Scheme’ introduced by the state government.

Born into a family grappling with poverty, Ankit’s pursuit of higher education seemed uncertain. Determined to overcome this hurdle, Ankit, accompanied by his mother, Babli Paul, a homemaker, made a courageous decision to seek support directly from Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.

On Monday evening, they met with Dr. Saha and earnestly described their financial predicament.

Acknowledging the remarkable potential of a meritorious student like Ankit, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha assured the young aspirant that financial constraints should not deter him from fulfilling his academic aspirations.

Displaying a commitment to nurturing talent and recognizing the importance of education, the Chief Minister pledged the necessary support for Ankit’s higher studies.

Both Ankit and his mother became speechless and overwhelmed at the gesture of the Chief Minister.

With the weight of the financial burden lifted, Ankit Paul can now pursue his dream of studying Civil Engineering at IIT Varanasi with renewed hope and determination.

Meantime, acknowledging Ankit success, the Chief Minister wrote on his facebook page, “I wish Ankit a bright future. Ankit Paul, a brilliant student from Lalchara in Khowai district secured ninth rank in this year’s higher secondary examination conducted by Tripura Board of Madhya Shiksha Parshad and got an opportunity to study Civil Engineering at IIT Banaras with coaching under Super-30 scheme. But due to the financial weakness of the family, the future of this talented student goes into uncertainty. I am very happy to know that he has achieved this success with the help of the state government and the state government will always stand by him in his higher education”.
