In the fiscal year of 2022-23, NERAMAC marketed agricultural and horticultural products from Tripura with a total value of Rs 22.11 lakh.

In its unwavering commitment to uplift farmers and small entrepreneurs in the North Eastern Region (NER), the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) is actively collaborating with the North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation Ltd. (NERAMAC), a Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE).

NERAMAC has been working tirelessly to promote and market agricultural and horticultural produce from the region, while also providing vital assistance for ancillary activities.

According to recent reports, the efforts of NERAMAC in the 2022-23 fiscal year, helped a total of 101 farmers and entrepreneurs from Tripura to reap the benefits of the various activities undertaken by the organization.

Notably, a remarkable total of 6,794 farmers and entrepreneurs from the entire North Eastern Region were benefited from NERAMAC’s initiatives during the last fiscal year.

Union Minister for Ministry of DoNER, G. Kishan Reddy, highlighted these significant achievements in a written response presented in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.

He revealed that the total value of agricultural and horticultural products from Tripura, marketed by NERAMAC in the 2022-23 fiscal year, amounted to an impressive Rs 22.11 lakh. This indicated a considerable growth from the figures of Rs 6.45 lakh in 2020-21 and Rs 6.60 lakh in 2021-22.

Furthermore, the DoNER Minister disclosed the financial success of NERAMAC itself, sharing the annual turnovers of the CPSE in recent years. Notably, the organization’s annual turnover witnessed substantial growth, reaching Rs. 14.60 crore in 2020-21, Rs. 26.69 crore in 2021-22, and a remarkable Rs. 110.62 crore in 2022-23.

NERAMAC plays a crucial role in multiple agricultural-related activities within the North Eastern States. This includes supplying essential agricultural inputs, marketing agricultural and horticultural products from the NER, participating in promotional events to create awareness about NER’s Agri-Horti produce, managing projects under various Central and State Government Schemes, and conducting capacity-building programs for farmers and entrepreneurs.

Moreover, the corporation is actively involved in processing Agri-Horti products, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the region’s agricultural sector.
