PNB, Agartala, Sep 08, 2016: The world is celebrating 50th International Literacy Day today under the banner “Reading the Past, Writing the Future”. Echoing the theme, Internal Literacy Day has been observed in Tripura also. The main programme was organised at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan, Agartala. Chief Minister of Tripura Manik Sarkar attended the main programme in Agartala. Speaking on the occasion, Sarkar stated The State has already achieved more than 97% literacy overcoming several impediments. He stressed upon achieving 100% literacy rate. He focused upon the theme of the Day in details. Informing about programme held in Belonia celebrating International Literacy Day, MP Jitendra Chaudhury remarked in Facebook, this landmark achievement of Tripura’s Literacy Movement is completely a fruit of voluntary efforts. Now, the endeavor is it to bring all the neoliterates under skill development training that the productivity level and family income of these citizens are enhanced.
