Rajyogini Brahma Kumari Kavita Bahen, affectionately known as “Baro Didi” and the head of Prajapati Brahma Kumaris Iswariya Viswa Vidyalaya in Tripura and Bangladesh passed away on Friday morning at the age of 55. Her demise was attributed to complications arising from liver ailments.
Sources close to the spiritual leader, residing at the Lighthouse in Banamalipur, revealed that Bahenji had been admitted to a private hospital in Agartala on the previous Friday. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her illness at 6 a.m. on the day of her passing. Subsequently, her mortal remains were transported to the Lighthouse before being conveyed to the Aralia Head Office.
The news of her passing spread quickly, prompting individuals from diverse backgrounds to gather at the Brahmkumaris Head Office in Aralia, Agartala, to pay their final respects to Baro Didi, known for her enduring love and affection.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha paid his respects with floral tributes, expressing profound sorrow at her sudden demise.
Dr. Saha acknowledged Bahenji’s pivotal role in liberating youth from the clutches of drug addiction.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy also paid homage to the departed Rajyogini, while former Chief Minister and veteran CPIM leader Manik Sarkar offered his heartfelt tributes.
Several other eminent personalities visited the Aralia Head Office to pay their respects as well.
Baro Didi, born on March 23, 1968, embarked on her spiritual journey at the tender age of eight. In April 1995, she arrived in Agartala and dedicated herself to serving the people of the State.
Her tireless efforts resulted in the establishment of 16 Brahmakumari Centers in the State.
Under her inspiring leadership, Brahma Kumaris Iswariya Viswa Vidyalaya initiated a compelling campaign against addiction and promoted stress-free living.
She also played a pivotal role in the establishment of Brahmakuris’ Centers in Bangladesh, further strengthening the cordial relationship between the two nations.
Brahma Kumaris and followers from different parts of the State joined in her final journey to the Battala crematorium later in the day.
