The Tripura State Legal Services Authority (TSLSA) conducted a unique Lok Adalat at every judicial station in the state on Sunday.
A total of 23,283 cases, which included Traffic Challan cases, cases under the Tripura Excise Act, Tripura Gambling Act, Tripura Police Act, Negotiable Instrument Act, and other criminal compounding offenses, were taken up in today’s Lok Adalat.
During this special Lok Adalat, a total of 16,144 cases were resolved, resulting in revenue collection amounting to Rs. 34,23,840.
The disposal rate for this Special Lok Adalat was 69.33 percent in relation to the total cases taken up. This significantly reduced the overall case backlog in the District Judiciary by more than 27 percent, said S. Datta Purkayastha, the Member Secretary of TSLSA in a press release today.
