Rupesh Debbarma clinched the coveted title of the inaugural TIPRA-Idol Season-I Music Competition in Tripura, marking a memorable win at the event hosted by the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Amidst a vibrant and enthusiastic audience, the first ever electrifying grand finale unfolded at Khumulwng’s Syndicate Ground on December 19. The event drew a huge response.
Purna Chandra Jamatia, the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of TTAADC, presented Rupesh Debbarma with a winner’s prize of Rs. 1 lakh along with the key to a scooty as a token of appreciation for his outstanding performance in the TIPRA-Idol-23.
The musical spectacle also showcased Rahel Kalai, whose mesmerizing performance captivated the judges, securing the prestigious 1st Runner-up trophy. Sushmita Debbarma claimed the esteemed 2nd Runner-up trophy. They received Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 25,000 respectively in recognition of their musical prowess.
Notably, among the 10 talented participants, 8 music artists were awarded Rs. 5,000 each and a guitar. The event organisers emphasized the encouragement extended to budding talents. Besides, the remaining 3 finalists received their well-deserved trophies along with guitars.
CEM Purna Chandra Jamatia extended his heartfelt congratulations to the winners. In his congratulatory speech , Jamatia emphasized the competition’s broader vision of nurturing and showcasing the exceptional talents of the region’s youth at a national level.
The judging panel for the final selection comprised renowned Kokborok music artists Sathyaranjan Debbarma, Hemanta Kumar Jamatia, Tarubala Debbarma, Arun Debbarma, Sarat Reang, and Kwplai Jamatia.
