The 34th Tripura Industry and Trade Fair will begin on January 25 at the Hapania International Fair Ground in Agartala.
The 12-day fair will run until February 11, 2024. The fair will be open daily from 2 pm to 9 pm. This year’s theme is “Technology and Innovation.”
Chairman of the Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Nabadal Banik made the announcement while addressing a press conference in the secretariat in Agartala on Wednesday.
He said there will be a total of 503 stalls at this year’s fair. Of these, 83 will be government stalls, 44 will be international stalls, 130 will be from other states, and 246 will be from local entrepreneurs.
Last year, the 33rd Tripura Industry and Trade Fair had a total of 380 stalls.
He said stalls will be opened at this year’s fair from Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Thailand, as well as from 17 states of India.
The Chairman further said the main objective of the Industry and Trade Fair is to create a sense of self-employment among the youth of the state. In this direction, there will be a touch of novelty at the fair. This year, two pavilions called the Technology and Policy Pavilion will be opened at the fair under the initiative of the department.
In these, the youth of the state will have the opportunity to participate in various discussions on how to become self-employed.
In addition, there will be a series of discussions on various topics related to industry and trade for six days. To entertain the crowd, there will be cultural programs every day. He said that new entrepreneurs at the state and district levels will be awarded at the industry fair this year.
In the press conference, Banik was accompanied by Kiran Gitte, Secretary of the Department of Industry and Trade, Swapna Debnath, Deputy Director of the department, and Binoy Bhushan Das, OSD of the TIDC.
