The Government of Tripura has announced steps to create new job opportunities across various departments, aiming to address the aspirations of the state’s job-seeking youth. In a cabinet meeting held on October 30, several proposals for recruitment, establishment of new posts, and strategic initiatives in development were approved, marking a push towards economic growth and employment generation.
In a social media post, Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha announced the cabinet decision on Saturday.
The government will prioritize filling vacant positions, including roles that are critical to various departmental functions. A proposal was approved to recruit 16 Senior Computer Assistants in the Home (Jail) Department.
In the Education sector, the government approved the hiring of 13 Principals for Government Degree Colleges to fill up the vacanct posts. Additionally, one Principal, Group-A, Gazetted, in the Regional College of Physical Education at Panisagar, North Tripura, will be filled, as authorized by the Education (YAS) Department.
The Finance Department has received approval for the creation and recruitment of 16 Lower Division Clerk (LDC) positions within the Directorate of Treasuries.
The government is also advancing its forensic capabilities by approving two Junior Forensic Digital Analyst positions in the Cyber Forensic Division of the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL). These roles, designated as Group B, Gazetted, will play a critical role in handling digital forensic investigations and supporting law enforcement efforts in tackling cyber-related crime.
Other notable approvals include the creation of a Driver position under the Directorate of Information Technology.
In an attempt to promote tourism and preserve the state’s rich heritage, State cabinet gave its nod to a proposal to establish a Digital and Cultural Museum in Tripura.
The cabinet has also green lit a strategic partnership to upgrade Tripura’s Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in collaboration with Tata Technologies Limited. This collaboration aims to equip the state’s workforce with industry-relevant skills, aligning with national standards and enhancing employability among technical graduates.
Moreover, the cabinet introduced the Tripura Start-Up Policy 2024 under the Industries & Commerce (IT) Department, intended to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. This policy aims to create a favorable ecosystem for start-ups, providing incentives and support for aspiring entrepreneurs to contribute to the local economy.
In a move to reduce industrial costs, the government announced a reduction in the TRD Cess on natural gas supplied by the Tripura Natural Gas Company Limited (TNGCL) within the state’s Industrial Estate, supporting local industries and encouraging expansion.
