The 73rd B.N. Mullick Memorial All India Police Football Championship reached the end of its league stage on Sunday, marking the seventh day of the tournament.
With the group matches concluded, the competition now moves into the pre-quarterfinal and knockout rounds starting tomorrow.
It was a disappointing day for Tripura, as both its men’s and women’s teams were eliminated from the tournament following defeats in their final league matches.
In the women’s category, Manipur delivered a commanding performance, thrashing Tripura 11-1 at Umakanta Stadium.
Meanwhile, the state’s men’s team suffered a narrow 2-3 loss against Meghalaya in an intense contest at the same venue.
Apart from two matches of Tripura men’s and women’s team, 10 other matches were held on Sunday.
At Umakanta Stadium, in the women’s category, SSB triumphed over Jharkhand 9-0. In the men’s category at the same venue, Jharkhand beat Telangana 6-0.
At Chandrapur Stadium, in the men’s category, BSF crushed Karnataka 5-0, and Goa overcame Nagaland 3-1. At Jampuijala Stadium, in the men’s category, ITBP defeated Rajasthan 3-1, and Puducherry blanked Himachal Pradesh 2-0.
At S.N. Colony Stadium, in the men’s category, Jammu & Kashmir narrowly beat Madhya Pradesh 2-1, and Sikkim topped Uttarakhand 2-0.
At Tulabagan Stadium, in the men’s category, Odisha thrashed Bihar 5-0, and West Bengal defeated RPF 2-1.

• Umakanta Stadium:
o Women’s category: Manipur defeated Tripura by 11-1, SSB dominated Jharkhand with a resounding 9-0 victory.
o Men’s category: Meghalaya beat Tripura by 3-2, Jharkhand outclassed Telangana 6-0.
• Chandrapur Stadium (Men’s category):
o BSF overpowered Karnataka 5-0.
o Goa edged past Nagaland 3-1.
