All train passengers coming from Covid hit States to undergo test

 

Mask Enforcement Day on every Wednesday and Saturday

In view of growing Covid scare across the country, Tripura Government has decided to conduct Corona Tests on all the passengers arriving in the State in trains from different parts of the country, concerned medical officials said this after a video conference in Agartala on Thursday.

To combat the second wave of Corona, Health Department of Tripura organized a video conference and Principal Secretary of the Department Dr JK Sinha presided over the meeting in which District Magistrates, Chief Medical Officers and officials of Police administration were present.  

Addressing a press conference Director of Family Welfare and Preventive Medicine Dr Radha Debbarma said this on Thursday. In the press meet, State Surveillance Officer Dr Deep Debbarma and Professor of AGMC Dr Tapan Majumder also were present.

During the video conference, Officials presented information on steps taken in the battle against Corona and several crucial decisions were taken.

“It is decided that Corona tests will be conducted on all the passengers arriving in State by trains from Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi and Maharastra”, officials said and added, “even if passengers carry negative Covid report, they will have to undergo Covid tests after de-boarding from trains in the State”.

Talking about steps for passengers found Covid positive, Officials said, passengers found Covid positive to be taken to concerned passengers district under Government facility. After that concerned District Health Department would make a final call on whether the passenger would be sent to home quarantine or be sent to quarantine center.

Previous provisions like pasting sticker on gates and putting stamp mark on hand will be followed. All the District Magistrates have been asked to take necessary steps for adherence to the decisions taken in today’s video conference.

Meanwhile, the State Government has decided to observe ‘Mask Enforcement Day’ on every Wednesday and Saturday.
