The BCCI will extend all kinds of support for the development of Cricket in Tripura, said Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Arun Singh Dhumal while speaking at the felicitation and award ceremony organized by Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) in Agartala on Saturday.

In his inaugural speech, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha highlighted the crucial need for comprehensive training of sports talents to unlock their full potential.

There is no dearth of talent in sports here in Tripura. We are steadily improving infrastructure to support these talents, and with the right training, they will undoubtedly achieve great success and bring pride to the state, Dr. Saha remarked.

He emphasized the role of rigorous practice and physical fitness in the success of players, suggesting the integration of Yoga and elements of gymnastics into their training routines to boost overall performance.

He encouraged the association's officials to aim for national and international recognition, saying that developing the sports sector should be their primary focus.

He acknowledged the limited space for vehicle movement as a key issue and shared that directions had been given to the District Magistrate and relevant authorities to resolve the matter.

If required, additional land would be acquired to facilitate proper arrangements around the stadium, he said.

Apart from assuring BCCI support for Tripura cricket, Arun Singh Dhumal emphasized the importance of rigorous practice for boys and girls to succeed in any sport. He also stressed the need to foster a sporting mindset among children alongside their studies.
