First Round of Talks on Tripartite Tiprasa Accord Kicks Off in New Delhi

The first round of the talks of tripartite agreement between the Central Government, Government of Tripura and TIPRA Motha Party (TMP) was held in New Delhi on Friday. 

The agreement was signed on March 2, 2024 in presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah,  Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, TIPRA Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, and other senior leaders of the TMP, TTAADC CEM and others attended the meeting. 

Senior state government officials including Chief Secretary J K Sinha were also there during the signing of the agreement.

Tipra-motha-tripartite-accord-dialogueIn today's meeting, advisor for the North-Eastern region AK Mishra,  TMP supremo Pradyot Kishore Debbarma, TMP president Bijay Kumar Hrankhawl, the secretary of the Home Department of the Tripura government, the secretary of the Tribal Welfare Department, and others were present.

Taking a swipe at the critics, Pradyot Kishore wrote in a social media post today, "Some said it will never happen but a historical process has started - this is the start !"

Terming the tripartite accord as the Tiprasa accord, he further wrote, "First round of the tiprasa accord dialogue held along with the officials of Home ministry and  state government has been held . A detailed discussion on ALL  points has been discussed". 

The TMP supremo said, We have also agreed that we will meet every two months and 'structured' discussion will be to Expedite the problems of our tiprasa people . Today we spoke as a community and not a party".
In his post, Pradyot Kishore asserted that he would continue to strive to give our people dignity and a better tomorrow.

The TMP supremo said to a private news channel that talks were held multiple issues including land rights, language and other constitutional issues relating to the indigenous people of Tripura.

He also said economic and financial issues were also discussed in today's first round talks.
