Manik Saha: Engineers at the Forefront of Transforming Tripura Into a Leading State

Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday emphasized the government's commitment to infrastructure development, urging engineers to take on their responsibilities for advancing the state's growth.

“Engineers must play a crucial role in establishing Tripura as a prominent state in the country,” Dr. Saha said during the Engineers’ Day 2024 celebrations, which included a blood donation camp at the Institute of Engineers (India) Tripura Centre and Pragna Bhavan.
Dr. Saha shared that two renowned cricketers recently visited Tripura for the first time and expressed their amazement at the state's beauty.

“They said they never imagined Tripura could be such a beautiful place. I told them that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided us with six national highways, and four more are in the pipeline. From the airport to the city and to Tripura Sundari Temple, engineers have been instrumental in these developments. This is why we are proud of them. During the last Odisha elections, the Prime Minister urged people to visit Tripura to witness true development, all thanks to the engineers. We place immense trust in them," Dr. Saha noted.
He further highlighted the global contributions of engineers from Tripura.
"Our engineers are bringing glory to both the country and the state, not just in Tripura but abroad as well. There is no shortage of talent here. With determination, much can be achieved. Whenever we hear of engineers or technical workers eager to contribute to Tripura, the government always welcomes and supports them," he added.

Dr. Saha also emphasized that this year’s budget allocated substantial financial resources for infrastructure development.

"Tripura is now on a developmental trajectory. Whether civil, mechanical, electrical, or IT, engineers are involved in every sector. If they engage in innovative work for the state's progress, it will inspire future students," he remarked.

He also encouraged Tripura's engineers working outside the state to return and contribute to its development.

Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, PWD Secretary Kiran Gitte, Rural Development Department Secretary Sandeep Rathore, and Education Department Secretary Reval Hemendra Kumar were also present at the event.
