Nari Vandhan: Support BJP in upcoming LS Polls for women empowerment, urges Tripura CM

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha of Tripura urged for backing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

He emphasized that the electoral outcome in favour of the saffron party holds significant implications for advancing women’s empowerment.

Dr. Saha’s call to action on Wednesday followed his virtual participation in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Nari Vandhan event. During this event, he engaged with activists from the 8 Town Bardowali Assembly Constituency and women representing various self-help groups.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to PM Modi’s vision,” stated Dr. Saha. “In Tripura, our primary focus lies in promoting the welfare and empowerment of women. We have already implemented a 33% reservation for women in government jobs and a 50% reservation for women in stall distribution. Additionally, PM Modi’s introduction of the Nari Vandhan Act underscores our dedication to women’s rights. Furthermore, there are existing reservations for women in Parliament. Our government and party align harmoniously in this direction. Notably, we have also waived fees for female students pursuing education in government degree colleges. Since 2014, PM Modi has consistently championed the safety and empowerment of women.”

Dr. Saha highlighted the state government’s proactive measures to safeguard women and girls in Agartala. These efforts include the installation of numerous surveillance cameras. “Our stance is clear: this government will not tolerate any form of violence against women,” he asserted. “We have established 9 Women Police Stations across 9 districts, all managed by women officers. Additionally, our 24x7 helpline desk provides crucial support. Furthermore, the number of women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs) has seen a significant rise in our state.”

Dr. Saha underscored the BJP’s unrelenting commitment to inclusivity, contrasting it with what he described as caste-based politics practiced by other parties. “PM Modi’s message is crystal clear: there exist only four castes—the poor, youth, women, and farmers—and our collective efforts must be directed toward their development to ensure the progress of our nation. With two Lok Sabha seats at stake, victory is our imperative. The candidate should secure three times more support.”
