Natl Awards, Central Fund sanction mark the day for Tripura
8 PRIs win Natl Awards
As many as eight PRIs of Tripura won the National Panchayat Awards, 2021 under various categories. Out of the eight PRIs, five bagged the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puruskar (DDUPSP) while one each of remaining three PRIs won the Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Purushkar (NDRGGSP), Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award (GPDPA) and Child –Friendly Gram Panchayat Award (CFGPA).
Gomati Zilla Parishad, Charilam Panchayat Samiti under Charilam, Dukli Panchayat Samiti under Dukli RD Block, North Charilam GP under Charilam RD Block, Tuichindrai GP under Teliamura RD Block won the National Panchayat Awards, 2021 under DDUPSP.
Rowa GP under Panisagar RD block won the NDRGGSP and the GPDPA Award went to Nakful VC under Dhalai district. The Child friendly Panchayat Award – CFGPA went to Kadamtala GP under Kadamtala in North Tripura.
It may be noted here that Teliamura RD Block won National Award in 2019 for implementation GeoMNREGA and Khasiamangal won the NDRGGSP in 2020. With Tuichindrai GP winning DDUPSP, Teliamura RD Block has been awarded National Awards for three successive years.
PMAY in Tripura: Centre sanctions Rs. 5661 lakh
The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has sanctioned Rs. 5661.60 lakh (central share) for fourth DPR under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana (PMAY).
Construction of as many as 80,544 houses in the state has been approved in the four DPR. Among them, 41,680 houses have already been constructed, a government press release said.
The Urban Development department has recently sent a proposal to the Centre for construction of another lot of 6,783 houses.
The release also said that a programme titled ‘100 days challenge: PMAY(U) Award 2021’ started on March 8 last and it would continue till June 20, next.
Under this programme, the best state, urban and rural local bodies along with the beneficiaries would be awarded.
