Tripura News: 30 Polling stations in East Tripura PC to be manned by Divyangjan

Polling in the 2-Tipura East (ST) parliamentary constituency will be held on Friday. For this purpose, 1664 polling stations have been set up out of which 30 Polling stations would be managed by Divyangjan people. Arrangements have been made for polling in peaceful and fearless environment, said District Magistrate of Dhalai Saju Wahid A, the returning officer of 2-Tripura East (ST) parliamentary constituency at the press conference on Thursday.

He called upon voters to exercise their democratic rights in a festive, peaceful and fear-free environment.

The total number of voters in the East (ST) parliamentary constituency is 13,96,761. Among them, 70,25,11 are male voters, 69,42,37 female voters and third gender voters are 13. In this Parliamentary constituency, more than 16,000 Bru voters will exercise their voting rights.

He also said, there are 1664 polling stations in the 30 assembly constituencies under constituencies. Among those, there are 61 model polling stations, 67 women manned polling stations, 30 Divyangjan manned polling stations and 30 youth-run polling stations.

Provisions of drinking water, electricity for the convenience of voters in polling stations have been made. Ramps, toilets and sheds have been provided for Divyangjan voters. Moreover, special arrangements have been made at polling stations for Divyangjan and senior citizens. Considering the ongoing hot summer spell, special provision of drinking water has been kept in each polling station.

He said, 6 polling stations under the 49-Chaumanu (ST) assembly in the East Tripura parliamentary constituency have been identified as the most far-flung polling stations. All kinds of facilities have been made for these centers.

The RO also informed the media that the complaints that were reported had already been addressed.
