Queen pineapple features in talks between Tripura CM, American Consul General
Delicious and tongue twister ‘Queen’ pineapple featured in talks between Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha and Consul General of the American Consulate in Kolkata Melinda Pavek. Dr Saha also highlighted tourism potentiality of the State.
The Consul General met Dr Saha on a courtesy visit in the secretariat in Agartala on Wednesday. Melinda Pavek handed over a citation to the Chief Minister during the courtesy call.
Chief Minister discussed with the Consul General the potentiality of communication, education, health, culture, tourism, agriculture and agriculture allied sectors and industries in Tripura.

Referring to Queen variety pineapple, Dr Saha said, this variety of pineapple of Tripura is very delicious and famous. He mentioned about the export of Queen Variety pineapple and different agricultural products from the state.
Besides, Dr Saha also said, Tripura has an immense possibility of developing the tourism industry and detailed the potentiality of different tourist spots including Domboor Lake and Narikel Kunja.
The Chief Minister told him about the newly constructed Maitri Setu on Feni River at Sabroom which will improve connectivity.
In this context, Dr Saha said, the bridge will be the Gateway of South East Asia in days to come. Meanwhile, the Consul General expressed his willingness to work jointly for the development of Tripura and the North Eastern Region.
Notably, Tripura is exporting pineapple, jackfruit and scented lemon to different states in India as well as in abroad. The incumbent government has taken initiatives for branding the products. These horti-products have earned good response from the consumers in India and abroad.
