Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Tripura CM leads unity pledge on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birthday

In a solemn observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Chief Minister of Tripura, Professor Dr. Manik Saha, paid heartfelt tribute to the enduring spirit of unity championed by the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

An event was held at the A.D. Nagar police ground in Agartala on Tuesday commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Dr. Saha, addressing a gathering of dignitaries and law enforcement personnel, not only celebrated the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel but also administered the pledge of unity and integrity to those who partook in the parade, underscoring the significance of this day.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, often revered as the "Iron Man of India," played a pivotal role in the historic integration of 562 princely states into the Union of India in the tumultuous period post-independence, from 1947 to 1949. His relentless determination and decisive actions were instrumental in this monumental task, uniting a diverse nation.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed across India since 2014, stands as a fitting tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's vision of a unified India.

The primary objective of this annual observance is to honor the memory of the great statesman and inspire a sense of unity and integrity among citizens.

In his honor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated the 'Run For Unity' campaign in 2014, a nationwide event aimed at commemorating Patel's legacy.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha shared the broader vision of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, emphasizing the goal of building a more powerful and prosperous India.

He pointed out that the day's activities were not limited to Tripura alone but extended throughout the nation, signifying a collective commitment to the principles of unity and integrity.

The commemorative event was graced by the presence of the Director General of Police, Amitabha Ranjan, and other distinguished officials, lending a sense of solemnity and respect to the occasion.

As India comes together to honor the legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, it reaffirms the nation's commitment to unity and integrity, echoing the profound words of the Iron Man of India himself.
