After several deferment, studies in schools, colleges and other institutions set to resume in Tripura from next week. Educational institutes were slated to open from December 1 last, however, permission from the State Health department could not be obtained in time.

As the required permission is available now, the Education department has decided to resume schooling in High Schools and Higher Secondary (+2) schools from December 7. Colleges and other institutions including technical institutions will also re-start classes from December 7 next. State Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this on Wednesday.

Ratan Lal Nath said that all Higher Secondary, High schools, Colleges and educational institutions would reopen from December 07.

According to the previous decision, as recommended by the high power committee, the educational institutions were supposed to reopen from December 1. But, suddenly, a notification was issued citing that there was no green signal from Health department.

“Now, the Health department has given clearance and we have decided to reopen all the Higher Secondary and High Schools, General Degree Colleges and other technical educational institutions from December 7 next,” Nath told the Media.

He also stated that the classes of X and XII would resume but the students need to take consent from their guardians for attending the classes.

In case of college, the Principals or authority concerned would take final decision about routine of the classes, he said.

Speaking to media, Nath also pointed that the schools and other educational institutions would resume functioning with 100 percent attendance of teaching and non-teaching staff.
