TBSE conducted Madhyamik, HS+2 exams postponed

The Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) has postponed all the Madhyamik and Higher Secondary (+2) exams in view of emerging Covid pandemic situation.

“Madhyamik, Higher Secondary, Madrasa Alim and Madrasa Fazil conducted by the TBSE have been postponed”, TBSE president Bhabotosh Saha said this in a press conference in Agartala on Saturday.

Earlier TBSE announced that Higher Secondary(+2) and Madhyamik exams would start from May 18 and May 19 respectively.

Saha also said that exams would be taken if things improve. In that case, TBSE would announce fresh dates two weeks before conducting the exams.

“The decision to postpone the exams was taken at the recommendation of Board’s Examination Committee”, he said.

Notably, College and University exams had already been postponed due to Corona scare.

Meanhwhile, Covid situation in Tripura continues to be grim. According to Media Bulletin on Covid19 (as on May 01, 2021), fresh 173 persons were found Covid positive and 41 patients recovered. One patient succumbed. A total of 4360 samples were tested.

Cumulative total number of patients under treatment or active cases stands at 1224 and 395 patients died till date. While Covid positivity rate is 4.98 per cent, recovery rate is 95.40 per cent and fatality rate is 1.12 per cent. A total of 1,77,511 tests per million conducted.
