TBSE HS+2 results announced, pass rate stands at 80.80 pc

Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE) declared HS (+2) results on Friday morning and top positions in Humanities, Science and Commerce streams went to girl students. In this year, total pass percentage stood at 80.80pc which was a tad higher than 80.51 pc of previous year. TBSE also announced the results of Madrassa Fazil Theology, Madrassa Alim and Fazil Arts and the results of Madhyamik (old syllabus) at the same time.

According to probable top 10 merit lists, Bipasha Chakraborty got the highest marks in HS (+2) results with 482 marks. She is a student of Humanities Stream of Vivekananda Vidyapith HS School under Udaipur subdivision in Gomati. Second position went Ruchika Sarkar of Arya Colony HS School of Belonia. She also secured top position in Science stream with 473 marks. Swarupa Banik from Prachya Bharati HS school of Agartala got topped position in Commerce stream with 455 marks.

Addressing a press conference at board office in Agartala on Friday morning, TBSE  president Dr Bhabatosh Saha  formally announced the results and shared an abstract of the results. Notably, HS(+2) examinations started on March 2 last, but board had to cancel the examinations on March 23 last due to Coronavirus pandemic and subsequent lockdowns.

Dr Saha said that this year total 26,400 candidates appeared in HS examinations from 408 schools across state.  Under 'Regular' category of HS (+2), a total of 22,536 candidates appeared in the examinations and among them 18,208 candidates managed to secure pass marks pushing pass percentage to 80.80pc.

Altogether 28 candidates enrolled their names for Madrassa Fazil examinations from three Madrassas of Kailasahar, Dharmanagar and Sonamura including 7 girl students. For Madrassa Alim, a total of 95 students including 16 girls’ students appeared in the examinations. Only one student appeared in the examination under old syllabus of Madrassa Alim and more 309 candidates enrolled under old syllabus of Madhyamik examinations. Among them only 211 candidates appeared for examinations including 125 girl students.

Dr Saha added that the evaluation for answer sheets of the conducted examinations has started on April 24th and completed all evaluation process on May 22nd last.

The schools under Autonomous District Council (ADC) areas under ‘combined’ category, total 3499 candidates appeared in the HS (+2) examinations and pass percentage recorded at 70.68 pc (67.66 pc in the year 2019).

The pass percentages of Madhyamik (old syllabus) recorded at 49.76 pc and students under Madrassa Alim got pass percentages of 72.94 pc.

In terms of overall pass percentage, Sepahijala district emerged in top position 84.27 pc pass rate, while South Tripura came in second position with 82.51 pc and Unakoti secured third position with 82.32pc. On the other side, the  least pass percentage was recorded in Dhalai district with 73.84pc pass rate, Dr Saha said.

He added, total 27 schools of the state secure 100pc pass marks, while only one school got zero percent pass marks. Last year number of schools with cent percent pass marks was 21. The Board president also said that no candidates from correctional home appeared in the examinations.

Dr Saha also said that the candidates can the file their review applications before August 10 next at their respective schools, which must be submitted at board office before August 14 next.
