The ongoing Budget Session of Tripura Assembly on Monday discussed on multiple issues including insurgency, unemployment profile and Covid19.
Tripura Government has taken several steps after noticing sporadic activities of militant outfits in the State. BSF patrolling along the border has been bolstered to prevent cross-border militant activities as well as initiatives to complete border fencing works in unfenced border areas have been taken. In an attempt to build up second layer security ring, TSR camps in Bordering areas will be set up. Meanwhile, counter insurgency operations remain unabated.
Apart from security arrangements, Government is encouraging Community Participation in development as well as harnessing capacities of institutions engaged in preserving Democratic and Human rights.
In Assembly, replying to a question of MLA Sankar Roy, Chief Minister who also holds Home (Police) Portfolio said this on Monday.
In reply to another question raised by MLA Sankar Roy relating to number of registered unemployed youth, Minister in-charge of Employment Services & Manpower Planning Department informed the House that a total of 2 lakh 28 thousand 428 jobseekers had registered their records in NCS Portal as on February 28, 2021.
Among the registered jobseekers, number of youth with 10th standard Educational qualification stands is the highest and it stands at 62,914 closely followed by 61,831 candidates with 12th standard educational qualification. Numbers of graduate and Post Graduate candidates registered with NCS Portal stand at 49,616 and 12,444 respectively.
A total of 148 PhD degree holders also registered their names. As many as 1059 candidates have ‘No Schooling’ educational qualification while 236 youth have not specified their Educational Qualifications.
MLA Sankar Roy came up with another question. He wanted to know as to how many cases were lodged against Covid norms violators under The Epidemic Diseases Act.
In reply to this question, Minister of Home cum Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said, the Act used in an attempt to control the deadly Corona Pandemic and according to Police records, a total of 21 cases were filed against 50 persons from December 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020.
