In the run-up to the impending by-polls for the Boxanagar and Dhanpur assembly seats in Tripura, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its political campaigns, striving to secure triumph in both constituencies.

Notably, BJP candidate tasted defeat in Boxanagar whilst snatched victory in Dhanpur seat in the last Assembly polls.

Top state-level leaders and three ministers – Pranajit Singha Roy, Sushanta Chowdhury and Tinku Roy threw themselves into the campaign blitz to ensure a resounding victory in both seats.

On Tuesday, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha along with other party leaders orchestrated a series of strategic initiatives within the Boxanagar constituency.

The BJP in Boxanagar received a significant boost, as a slew of opposition leaders cast their allegiance with the saffron Party.

Among the notable individuals who joined the saffron ranks were Jaidal Hossain, a prominent candidate from the Trinamool Congress (TMC), Minakshi Begam, the TMC’s torchbearer for the women’s wing at the block level, Joynal Hossain, the TMC’s minority cell leader at the block level, Jakir Hossain, a Congress district committee leader, and Sharik Ahmed, a youth leader hailing from the Communist Party of India (Marxist).

Along with several others, they joined BJP in presence of the Chief Minister at Boxanagar today.

Following the joining programme, in a symbolic gesture underscoring the party’s renewed vigor BJP’s Boxanagar mandal election office was inaugurated.

Chief Minister Dr. Saha adeptly held a series of strategic meetings with leaders and party workers.

His canvassing efforts included an extensive door-to-door engagement with the electorate and culminated in a fervently attended ‘House Meeting’ convened to bolster support for the BJP-endorsed candidate, Tafajjal Hossain.

During the house meeting, Dr. Saha cogently articulated his stance, asserting that casting ballots in favor of those who ran a tumultuous era of misrule and propagated a politics of violence for over three decades would essentially be a nod to corruption, political coercion, and even bloodshed.

In stark contrast, the Chief Minister highlighted that endorsing the BJP candidate will be translated into embracing a trajectory of progress and good governance.

Prominently underscoring the transparent and good governance blended with unprecedented development spearheaded by the Modi-led administration, Dr. Saha averred that the current regime steered clear of any instances of corruption.

He accentuated that the transformative leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been instrumental in ushering a wave of change, thereby ensuring the welfare and upliftment of the nation’s populace.

Dr. Manik Saha earnestly implored the conscientious citizens of Boxanagar to exercise their franchise in favor of the BJP’s nominated candidate, Tafajjal Hossain.

This, he asserted, would serve as a pivotal conduit towards experiencing genuine, all-encompassing development.
