Tripura CM campaigns for BJP in WB, highlights country's development under PM Modi

Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha reiterated the 2024 Lok Sabha election is not just a political event, but a pivotal moment in nation-building. Speaking at a road show in Saithia, West Bengal, in support of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) nominee Debtanu Bhattacharya, the Chief Minister emphasized the significance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Dr. Saha highlighted that the election is a choice of guarantee, a guarantee given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He stressed that it’s an election to safeguard the country’s future and to choose the socio-economic development of its people. The ongoing nationwide development under the Prime Minister’s leadership, he said, is the essence of this election. Therefore, he urged, this election should not be taken lightly.

He asserted that for Bengal and the country to progress, BJP candidates should win with a substantial majority. He expressed concern over the misrule witnessed in West Bengal and revealed that the BJP has targeted 32 out of the 42 constituencies in the state. “We must secure 400 seats nationwide and 30 in West Bengal,” he reiterated.

Dr. Saha also reflected on the political landscape in Tripura, where he said a long rule of almost 35 years has been observed. He criticized the Left Front for their misrule and the Congress for their coalition politics. The Chief Minister pointed out the paradoxical situation where the CPIM and Congress flags are seen emerging from each other’s offices, terming it a “sinister alliance.”

He questioned the INDI alliance of opposites, noting that even if this alliance wins in the future, they have not yet been able to announce who will be the Prime Minister. He also mentioned that the CPIM is fighting against Congress’s Rahul Gandhi in Kerala, indicating their lack of principles.

The road show saw participation from the top leadership and activist supporters of the Bengal BJP. A large crowd gathered around the event, reflecting the high stakes and intense interest in the upcoming elections. As the election draws near, Dr. Saha underlined the importance of this election in shaping the future of the nation.
