Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb paid tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary on Saturday. Besides, MoS for Social Justice and empowerment Pratima Bhoumik also paid homage to the former Prime Minister today.
In a tweet, Deb said, I pay my respects and homage to the great person, Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee who was respected not only by his own party members but also leaders of opposition parties respected him. He was a poet, litterateur and an eminent politician.
Meanwhile, Tripura Pradesh unit of BJP organized a programme at the Party office in Agartala today to observe the former Prime Minister’s birth anniversary with due dignity and solemnity. State president of BJP Dr Manik Saha, MoS Pratima Bhoumik, party’s general secretaries Tinku Roy, Papia Datta and other leaders as well as workers paid floral tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee today.
After offering her respects, MoS Pratima Bhoumik wrote, “Paid floral tributes to Bharat Ratna and former PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary at a program organised at @BJP4Tripura state office. #AtalJiAmarRahen.”
It may be mentioned, Vajpayee was the first non-Congress Prime Minister of the country who served a full time in office.
Speaking to the media, Dr Saha explained the importance of observance of birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and said, we are inspired by his dedication and works for the nation. Today, we are revisiting the life and principles of Atalji aiming to spread his vision among the masses.
