Tripura CM reviews Covid preparedness in Gomati, South district

As the Covid19 situation looks grim, Tripura Chief Minister continues reviewing ground realities and preparedness at District and Sub-divisional level.  After Unakoti and North Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has on Sunday reviewed the COVID19 facilities and preparedness in South Tripura and Gomati districts.

 

Tripura CM-Covid-Gomati-South-districtToday Deb visited Sabroom, Santirbazar and Belonia under South Tripura District and Chandrapur Covid Centre under Gomati District. During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed availabilities of beds and Oxygen, ventilators and other issues. Deb interacted with the local authorities and also reviewed the status of testing.

 

Meanwhile, in the wake of COVID19 pandemic, the state government already initiated multiple plans to improve the healthcare system up to district and sub-division level. The Chief Minister is paying such random visits to different districts to know the ground reality—specially the outcome of such plans.

 

On Sunday, Deb accompanied by a combined team of administrative and health officials started his visit from the 100-beded Covid Care Centre at Bhuratali Ekalavya Residential School of Sabroom.

 

He then moved to Santirbazar district hospital and inspected the existing facilities at Covid Health Centre functioning in the hospital. He also inspected the proposed place for setting up of an Oxygen plant in the hospital.

 

Speaking to the Media, Deb said the state government had already put all necessary arrangements in place to deal with any emergency.

 

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has passed necessary instructions to the officials concerned so that the Covid-infected patients don’t face any problem during treatment.

 

Deb reiterated, “there is no need of full lockdown at the present situation. The government will consider lockdown only if suggested by the experts.”

 

The Chief Minister’s next visit was at the Dedicated Covid Care Centre of Belonia sub-divisional hospital.

 

He said the Covid situation in South Tripura district was so far under control. He also stated that the government had emphasized on vaccination of maximum number of people at shortest possible time.

 

In Gomati district, Deb visited the Covid Care Centre at Chandrapur primary health centre. Apart from local healthcare authorities, Deb had interactions with the Covid patients.

 

During the visit, CMO Gomati Dr. Nirumohan Jamatia said there were 12 ICU and 20 oxygen-support beds in the centre. Besides, 55 beds were kept ready for patients having mild symptoms. According to the CMO, the number of beds would soon be increased to 100.
