Education Minister of Tripura Ratan Lal Nath strongly pointed out that recent Delhi visit of the Tripura Chief Minister was very much important at this critical point of time.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb’s recent 5-day Delhi tour – from September 21-26 – was crucial in terms of overall development of the State. During his tour, Deb met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Rakhsha Mantri Rajnath Singh and discussed issues pertaining to the State. Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this while addressing a press meet at civil secretariat on Thursday.
Referring to reports relating to Deb’s Delhi visit published in a section of media as ‘baseless’ and ‘confusing’, Nath pointed out day-wise programme of the Chief Minister in Delhi.
“On September 21, Deb went to Amit Shah’s residence and held meeting. with Shah in presence of Health Minister of Assam Himant Biswa Sharma, secretary of Union Home Ministry Ajay Kumar Bhalla, IB director Arvind Kumar, secret5ary of North Eastern Region, Home Ministry Satyendra Garg and Revenue secretary of Government of Tripura, Tanushree Debbarma. During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed on Bru resettlement issue, approval for setting up Integrated Check post at Sabroom, packages for development in indigenous areas etc.
Nath also said that Biplab Kumar Deb held meeting with All India BJP president JP Nadda in New Delhi on September 22 last. Besides, Deb also met Rakhsha Mantri Rajnath Singh on September 23 and discussed setting up of Sainik School in the State.
“Responding to the Prime Minister’s call, Deb went to meet him on September 24 last. During the meeting Deb apprised the Prime Minister of prevailing Covid19 situation in the State and detailed about steps taken by the State Government to handle the situation”, Nath said.
Apart from Covid19 issue, the Chief Minister also held talks on development of the State. “The Chief Minister mentioned about allocation of funds for SEZ in Sabroom, providing assistance in 15th Finance Commission to meet probable deficit of Rs 2200 crore during 2020-21 FY, release of remaining funds sanctioned for on-going projects, allocation of fund for for setting up Logistic Hub at Sabroom. Deb also discussed about modernization of Rubber and Tea sectors of the State”, Nath said.
