Tripura Government decides to give 3 pc DA to employees, pensioners

Tripura Government has announced 3 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners. The State Council of Ministers took the decision in a meeting in Agartala on Thursday. Chief Minister of Tripura Biplab Kumar Deb announced this in his social media profile. The DA would come into effect from March 01, 2021 next, the Chief Minister’s post further read.

 

As the report of DA spread, it immediately brought cheers among the employees and pensioners of Tripura. "Amidst mounting cost of living, a 3 per cent DA will ensure some sorts of relief, opined pensioners and many hailed the decision saying it was a bold decision in view of present situation.  

 

DA-Tripura-Govt-NewsThe Chief Minister in his social media post, also wrote, every year, the state government will bear additional expenditure of Rs 320 crore to extend the benefit to as many as 1 Lakh 90, 000 employees and pensioners of Tripura government and 7 to 8 lakh family members of the employees and pensioners passively.

 

In his post, the Chief Minister further elaborated that despite the paucity of funds and Covid 19 induced financial sluggishness, the Tripura government had taken the decision of giving 3 pc DA for the welfare of its pensioners.

 

“It would ensure economic enhancement and each and every section of the society will get benefited through the step directly or indirectly”, the post read.

 

Later on, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath who also happens to be the cabinet spokesperson officially announced the Cabinet decisions of giving 3 pc DA through a press conference at the civil secretariat.

 

Nath said, “Despite financial constraints the state government has decided to give the benefits to its employees. The DA benefits will come into force from the month of March which means the employees and pensioners will start receiving the benefits from April”. 

 

Apart from that, the state council of ministers has also approved a proposal of appointing 12 TET qualified persons with relaxed age. “There is shortage of teachers in school. The Government, therefore, recruited 12 TET qualified and over aged teachers after considering age relaxation”, Nath said.
