Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu held a review meeting on Monday with the district administration of Khowai district in Tripura on various development projects at the conference hall of the District Administration's office.
The meeting was attended by District Magistrate Chandni Chandran, Secretary to the Governor U.K. Chakma, DFO Akshay B. Bhordo, Superintendent of Police Dr. Ramesh Yadav, BDOs of various blocks and officials of various departments.
In the meeting, Chandi Chandran apprised the Governor about the various developmental projects of the district through a PowerPoint presentation.
The Governor advised the officials to encourage oil palm cultivation and Queen variety pineapple cultivation through the Horticulture Department and to adopt scientific methods and tissue culture techniques. He also advised them to provide paddy harvesting machines to the farmers.
The Governor also advised the District Animal Husbandry Officer to encourage people to take up animal husbandry in a big way. He asked the officials to expand the facilities of drinking water, electricity, irrigation etc.
The Governor said that he was visiting various districts to see the developmental works under the Central Government schemes.
The Governor was given a guard of honor by the Khowai District Police Administration and he planted an Agar sapling at the District Magistrate's office. He inaugurated the TRLM stall at the DM’s office by cutting the ribbon.
Thereafter, the Governor visited the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Ramchandraghat and interacted with the students of the school. He enjoyed the cultural program presented by the students of the school.
In the evening, the Governor visited the Eklavya Residential Model School at Rajnagar in Tulashikhar block. He interacted with the students of the model school. The program was attended by the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police and other officials.
Later in the evening, a cultural program was organized by the district administration at the local Dak Bungalow.
