Tripura News: 10 more new courses to be launched in MBB Univ, says VC

For the benefit of the students of the State, the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) University will introduce 10 new courses. The University Authority has taken initiative to launch these new courses from the Academic Year, 2021-22.

 

Vice Chancellor of the MBB University Dr Satyadeo Poddar said this in a press conference organized at the University on Monday.

 

Out of the 10 new courses, four are certificate courses and remaining six are diploma courses.  The courses will start from the 2021-22 Academic Year, Vice Chancellor said.

 

The four certificate courses included - Certificate Course in Entrepreneurship, Certificate Course in Farming, Certificate Course in Production and Certificate Course in Organic Farming.

 

Dr Podder said, “These four certificate courses will help youths to be trained so that they can acquire requisite knowledge and skills to become self-reliant by starting different ventures”.

 

Duration for these certificate courses is six months.

 

Moreover, the one year certificate courses include  Diploma in Goods and Service tax (GST), Insurance Risk Management, Retail and Sales Management, Chinese (Mandarin) Language, Digital Marketing (PG Diploma), and Library Automation and Networking (PG Diploma).

 

The last date for admission in these courses is October 30 next. The classes will start from November 15 next.

 

The Vice Chancellor said, MBB University will emerge as successful if the students enrolled in these courses can attain self-reliance.

 

“GST Diploma course was introduced last year in which many students took admission. Even before the course was completed as per schedule, some of the students got jobs”, Dr Podder said.

 

Among others, Registrar of MBB University Dr Sumanta Chakraborty and Controller of Examination G. P. Debbarma were present in the press conference.
