Tripura News: About Rs 80 cr plan taken up for developing Sabroom city, says CM

Plans of about 80 crore rupees have been taken up for developing Sabroom city. It is because of Prime Minister
Narendra Modi that Sabroom residents are reaping the benefits of the development works carried out across the state, enunciated Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb after inaugurating the newly built 100-bedded Sabroom sub division hospital building and oxygen plant yesterday. Around 13.5 crore rupees was invested in building this sub divisional hospital. Chief Minister and Minister of States for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar paid homage to the statue of Mother Teresa at the hospital with flowers. They also handed sewing machines to 34 women SHG members who have already received training on sewing and handed bicycles to 25 women.
 
Apart from this, wheelchairs to 2 Divyangans and Ayushman Bharat card to 2 beneficiaries were handed over on behalf of the health department. Chief Minister and other guests on this day visited various sections of the hospital. Minister of States for Health and Family Welfare Dr. Bharti Pravin Pawar after her visit expressed her satisfaction with overall management of the hospital.
Chief Minister said, for a long period of time Sabroom residents have been neglected in various aspects of development. There was shortage in providing various facilities. Plans of about 80 crore rupees were taken up for modernisation and overall development of Sabroom city.
 
Works are in progress to bring socio-economic as well as overall development of Sabroom residents. Apart from that, Special Economic Zone, Maitri Setu built over River Feni to develop Indo-Bangla trade, Sabroom Integrated Checkpost are all adding up to the economic development of the state. As a result, Sabroom as well as the whole state will witness economic development. Government is working giving utmost priority to developing the health
services.
 
He hoped this sub division hospital will play an important role in providing modern health services to the residents of the sub division. He further said, besides bringing development in health infrastructure, in just 39 days MBBS doctors were recruited through transparent policy. Initially a specialist will be appointed along with other doctors in this hospital. He also said that there are further plans to provide more doctors to Sabroom in future.

 

Others present in the programme were MLA Sankar Roy, Principal Secretary of Health JK Sinha, Director of Health Subhasish Debbarma, DM, South Tripura Saju Wahid A, and
 Chairman of South Tripura Zilla Parishad Kakali Das Dutta.
