Tripura News: Another young woman Held from Kalyanpur in Pistol Recovery Case

The Agartala Railway Police have apprehended another individual, a young woman, in connection with the pistol recovery incident that occurred on May 25. The 20-year-old woman is a resident of Kalyanpur under Khowai in Tripura. This arrest marks a crucial step forward in the ongoing investigation, shedding light on potential criminal activities in the region.

Previously, the Government Railway Police (GRP) unit at Agartala Railway Station had arrested two individuals, including a young woman, who were found in possession of a pistol. The duo was apprehended as they disembarked from the Jan Satabdi Express at the Agartala Railway Station.

The proceedings have been rigorous, aiming to uncover the full extent of their involvement and any potential connections to larger criminal networks.

Speaking to the media, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Agartala GRPS, Tapas Das, shared some insights into the ongoing investigation. “Based on the information obtained during the interrogation of the two detained individuals, another young woman, identified as Remi Debbarma, aged 20, was found to be associated with the group,” he said.

Das further revealed that the third suspect, Remi Debbarma, was apprehended from her residence in the Kalyanpur area, located under the jurisdiction of Khowai district, on Friday night. Following her arrest, she was produced before the court on Saturday, with the police seeking a three-day remand for further interrogation.

The arrest of the third suspect has added a new dimension to the case, hinting at a potential network of individuals involved in illicit activities. Das assured that comprehensive investigations are underway to determine the full extent of their involvement and to uncover any potential connections to criminal activities.
