Tripura News: Kishore Barman appointed general secy of State BJP

BJP leader Kishore Barman has been appointed as the general secretary of Tripura Pradesh BJP. Barman arrived in Agartala on Tuesday and took over the charge after State BJP president Dr Manik Saha had appointed him as the general secretary.

 

Dr Saha said, “I have appointed him as the general secretary of Tripura Pradesh BJP after consulting the Central leadership. Barman has been assigned the responsibility of strengthening the booth level organization”.

 

After receiving the responsibility, Kishore Barman said, “It is good that I will get an opportunity to work in presence of my seniors and guardians in my own State. I have come back to my State almost after 14 years and I have been assigned my favourite responsibility of working with booths. I always consider myself as a booth-level worker”.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb congratulated Kishore Barman. In a social media post, Deb wrote, "Warm greetings to Shri @KishorBarmanBJP for being appointed as the General Secretary of @BJP4Tripura

His commitment & hardwork will strengthen the party's efforts to take the message of the developmental works undertaken by the State Government to the 37 lakh people of the state."

 

Speaking to the media, Dr Saha said, Barman, 41 years old, is a dedicated and responsible karyakarta of BJP. He completed his Master's degree in Bengali from Tripura.

 

Dr Saha also said, Barman is associated with the party for quite a long term. He joined ABVP in 2000. Barman was the Organizing general secretary of ABVP during 2004-07. He also held the same position in ABVP in West Bengal later.

Barman became National Secretary of ABVP during 2016-18. He also discharged his responsibilities as the West Bengal Pradesh BJP Joint Organizing general secretary till mid-2021 from 2018.

 

The State BJP president exuded confidence that the induction of Kishore Barman would strengthen the organization. “I have given him the responsibility of strengthening booth level organization in the State. Moreover, he will also look after the participation of the booth level workers in listening PM’s Mann Ki Baat programme”, Dr Saha said.

 

Kishore Barman hails from Kemtali of Nalchhar under Sepahijala District.
